Collectable Pirate Coin
(
shown larger than actual size)

A Great Promotional Item:
As each guest completes their ride on "Gulf Coast Buccaneers", they're handed a collectable "Pirate Coin".  Coins are approximately the size of a standard half-dollar (US funds) and will ONLY be made available to riders when the ride concludes. One coin per rider.

NOTE:  Yes, we have a source that can stamp these
collector coins in large quantities, at reasonable prices.

Each coin has our proprietary design (shown above) on the face. On the reverse side guests see the name of your park, along with "Gulf Coast Buccaneers" embossed in the surface. There is also a small raised rectangle where the current year is stamped to add value for collectors as we create a dated souvenir. Guests have a choice to keep each coin as a souvenir, or... they can "take a chance" by playing their coin in a life-size Pirate slot-machine.

This slot machine is exclusively located inside A Pirate's Life..." the themed satellite store associated with "Gulf Coast Buccaneers". This machine will ONLY accept our special collector coin, and will not accept actual currency. When guests insert a coin and pull the Pirate's arm, they'll have a chance to win one of several different discount coupons, which can be redeemable right there in the pirate store. Each winning coupon has a monthly expiration date that should encourage guests to return to the park to redeem them within this grace period.

A coupon's value can be used as a discount for the purchase of one single item that is not already discounted or on sale. Multiple coupons cannot be used on the same item. Coupons could have a value between $1 - $100. The value and the distribution will be determined by park management. If a large denomination coupon is used on a less valuable purchase... the guest cannot collect any excess value. This will encourage guests to gauge their purchases accordingly.

There is a certain amount of risk for each guest who elects to try their luck in the Pirate slot. To prevent counterfeiting, each coupon has a bar code that the cash register will read and use for identification and tracking purposes. Guests will be responsible for any local taxes, and taxes will be automatically calculated on the full price before any discount.

Other ideas:
Coins that you collect from the slot-machine, can [of course] be recycled. At the end of the year, any coins that you have accumulated that have a "prior" year's date, can be packaged and offered for sale in the store's inventory to collectors. You may also want to consider attaching a monitary value that guests can use at the "Pirate's Cove" restaurant for food purchases. You might also consider "Gold Plating" a small quantity of these promotional coins, then transforming them into Key-Chains and Necklaces that can be sold as Pirate jewelry.

A great promotional tool that can help support the ride,

as well as creating goodwill for your staff and park.
